On your browser, there is a button you can click to reload the page you are viewing. It’s called the refresh button. In French, it is called Le bouton Actualiser /luh boo ton ack tuah lee zay/ (LISTEN), while the action itself is Recharger la page /ruh charr jay lah pah juh/ (LISTEN)
As Duanra illustrates, sometimes, one spends too much time on their computer…
Vocabulaire
avoir beau + verbe infinitif = despite (verb)ing
Exemples:
J’ai beau essayer, je n’y arrive pas.
Despite trying, I don’t succeed.
Le vent a beau souffler, les amoureux continuent de s’embrasser.
Despite the wind blowing strongly, the lovers continue to kiss.
Unfortunately, the above drawing shows a spelling mistake. “essayé” should be written “essayer”. They pronounce the same, /ess ay yay/ (LISTEN), but while essayé is the past participle (il a essayé, he tried), essayer is the infinitive (essayer, to try).
Recharger /ruh sharr jay/ (LISTEN)= To reload
Il ne se passe rien /eel nuh spass ree eihn/ (LISTEN) = Nothing is happening.
Quelque chose se passe /kell kuh shows suh pass/ (LISTEN)= Something is happening.
Qu’est-ce qui se passe /kess kiss pass/ (LISTEN) = What is happening? / What’s going on?
